The Aquaculture Pathology Laboratory, University of Arizona was glad to host Assoc. Prof. Dr. Magdalena Lenny Situmorang from the School of Life Sciences and Technology, Institute of Technology Bandung (SITH ITB), Indonesia for the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program 2023. During the 3.5-month program (September to mid December 2023), Dr. Lenny was collaborating with Prof. Dr. Arun K Dhar and team, particularly on the first study on the development of synbiotic-supplemented functional feed for Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) disease control in vannamei shrimp culture. The Certificate of Completion of the program has been recently issued by the Fulbright Association and this marks an achievement for both institutions. Collaborations between SITH ITB and APL U of A will be continued in both aquaculture disease-related research as well as wider education programs to contribute for a more sustainable and resilient aquaculture.
